50-60 days. Deep crimson stalks and leaf veins contrast beautifully with dark green heavily crumpled leaves. The delicious, vitamin rich leaves and stalks are tasty in salads and as cooked greens. Great variety for freezing. Very hardy. Packet of 100 seeds.
Heirloom from Europe goes back to 1857. Salzer’s 1915 catalog opines, “Swiss chard produces more food for the table than almost any other vegetable and it also requires less care; it yields a constant crop from July to winter.”
