Onion, Yellow of Parma

110 days from transplant.  A top-quality, late season onion with golden, globe-shaped bulbs weighing an average of 1 pound. It has a mild, sweet taste when fresh, but its flavor intensifies when it is stored. One of the best onions varieties for storage, storing up to 10 months. Long-day type.   Packet of 100 seeds.

This variety hails from northern Italy.  Brought to Parma, Italy in 1896 by a seedsman from nearby Pavia.
