62-80 days. Extremely long, 12 to 15" in length, slender and round-ended. Fruits dotted with white spines, are a uniform dark green. Flesh is firm, of excellent quality, with few seeds. Perfect for slicing. Packet of 25 seeds.
Bred and released in 1927 by Jerome B. Rice Seed Company of Cambridge, New York. Originally prized as a “straight pack” for high-grade markets across the Northeast, Longfellow or its close derivatives have been used by innumerable breeders to impart similar ideal length, dark green color, and excellent flavor.
